How Can I Be More?

"Aspire not to have more but to be more."
-Archbishop Oscar Romero

I first encountered Archbishop Romero in Miriam College. Not in person but in books. I encountered him through my subject, Theology of Liberation. Then, when I went to Sydney for World Youth Day 2008, I got this brochure from Caritas Australia with the above-mentioned quotation. Since then, the idea of "being more for others" has long bugged me.

The last time I felt this intense feeling was last January 18, 2014 and during the afternoon, I got the biggest surprise of my life - a marriage proposal from my then boyfriend and now fiance, Nikko.

Last January 18, 2015, after meeting Pope Francis in UST Manila during the Meeting with the Youth, that same feeling was awakened. 1 year has passed and yet I can still feel the same feeling. I feel a fire in my heart that would want to explode anytime. I feel that something is calling me to perform greater things, bigger things, not for myself but for others. I have tried doing some things but I don't feel the connection. The search is still on. I still don't know what to do.

I feel like I want to change the world through small acts. Maybe something like creating a "BE MORE" Campaign wherein people from communities will get the chance to do small projects which will help change a life. It does not need to be something grand. It needs only to be something tangible, something real where people can collaborate and create something which will have an impact to a life or even to families or communities.

What's your thoughts on this? :)
