No place I'd rather be...
It was an ordinary Saturday. The only difference is that I will not see my boyfriend today. He told me he has overtime work to do. Part of my agenda for the day are two things: Commission on Youth Meeting and Date with girlfriends Marlyn and Liza. We do this annual goals sharing dinner to help motivate each other.
Here in your love...
Woke up a little tired, lazy me strikes again. But I told myself, it's 2014, rise up Rosy, you have a mission to fulfill. Drank coffee, took a bath, dressed up and went to the meeting. 11am call time, still no one was in the vicinity. While waiting for them to arrive, I scribbled...
Came 11:30am, Liza arrived, followed by Migs and so on and so forth. It was a very productive meeting - a happy one indeed.
Set a fire down in my soul...
Came 3PM, I went home to change because Liza, Marlyn and I are scheduled to meet up at 3:30pm so we can go to Eastwood together. We met at the 7eleven near our house all dressed up and ready. Marlyn insisted that we go to Eastwood. For some reasons, Marlyn misses her previous work place already. She worked at IBS 2 years ago. So I suggested we stay at Caffe Bene because the place was quiet and perfect for our purpose. We ordered our yogurt drinks, took our seats and began our sharing. While we were seated, I saw my friend Ria passed by. Thought it was just the usual encounter. As we continued our sharing, a girl went inside. She said she was from a travel and tours agency and they have a promo game. If you win in the game, each one of us will win a trip to Vietnam. The girl was dressed up, with all the paraphernalia. I was not that eager to join. I was thinking I can buy my own ticket (hahaha). Then Marlyn suggested that Liza decides. Being the more passive one, thought she wouldn't like to join. But Liza insisted, asking questions. As we were really planning to go to Vietnam in August, Liza said, "Do you have a ticket already?" I said none yet. So Liza insisted that we join. 5 pit stops and we will win a trip to Vietnam. Sounds interesting. I was thinking, working in eastwood for more than 3 years, I am quite familiar with the places already.
that I can't contain...
We started the game.
First Pit Stop: Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf
Second Pit Stop: TGI Fridays
Third Pit Stop: Gigi's Red Velvet
Fourth Pit Stop: JCo
Fifth and Last Pit Stop: Holy Family Chapel
that I can't control....
Every pit stop, we get a prize (shoes travel case, underwear travel case, travel pillow, and bag tag).
At the last pit stop, the Travel Agency Crew said we won already. Happy us, we were told to put blind folds because our final prize will come in a bit. They gave me a mobile phone, told us to wait for the caller. The phone rang. I answered the phone. It was Nikko. He said, 'Hello!'. I was a little bit panicking. I was not thinking that he will be the one to answer the phone. It was like a fairy tale for me. I said, 'Bakit ikaw?' He asked me to remove the blind fold and I saw him holding the grand prize, ticket for two to Vietnam.
He asked me to walk with him. As we walked, he handed over a bouquet of red roses. On the other side of the Church, all my close friends were standing lined up holding the 'Will you marry me' placards. Some were holding purple (my fave color) and white balloons. There were petals of red roses all over and he knelt down and said, 'Will you marry me?' I was in awe, I can't say a word. I just nodded. He repeated, 'Ann Rosselle Signey Cortes, will you marry me?' I said, yes.

I am still in awe. It was a spiritual experience for me. I felt God's love made real through Nikko. God made me experience a fire in my heart that I can't contain and control. The proposal was a miracle making for me. Seeing my high school friends, COY friends, and family in one place is something for me.

Thank you to everyone who shared their time in making the proposal such a memorable one. Continue to journey with us. May God bless your hearts today and forever.
