All things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose. (Romans 8:28)
Yes is a beautiful word. It can either make you or break you. One thing is for sure, saying yes to the right things would mean greater things for you. Much more if you say yes to God because that would mean surrendering your life to His beautiful promises (Romans 8:28).
Last December 2013, I was invited by the Youth Ministry of San Jose Tagapagtanggol Parish in Holy Spirit to give a talk on Saying Yes to God. The perfect way of Saying Yes to God was written by Bo Sanchez so I decided to share his words of wisdom on why we need to say Yes to God. Bo mentioned that saying Yes to God would mean giving one's trust, freedom and limitation. After sharing Bo's points, I also shared to the youth how I said Yes to God when I joined the Parish Youth Ministry and that all great things in life would start with one great yes.
Once again, last December 28, 2013, I was also invited by the Youth Ministry of St Peter Shrine in Commonwealth. Their topic is Choosing to be brave. I decided to give the same talk because choosing to be brave would mean saying Yes to God. Also, one cannot say yes to God without being brave for God. I didn't know that these talks were God's preparation for me when He asked me to say yes to forever.
God is just fond of giving me speaking sessions because last January 25, 2014, once again, I was invited to give another talk in the Youth Ministry of Parroquia dela Nuestra Senora dela Paz and they specifically requested me to speak about saying Yes to God. During that night, as my personal testimony, I shared how I said yes to God by saying yes to Nikko.
Some sweet points about saying YES:
1. YES is a very easy word to say. In leadership books, it is harder to say NO. What is important is learning how to say yes to the right things. Hence, in order for us to do this, we should always discern God's presence. We should ask Him to guide us in all our decisions. One manifestation of this is through the people around you (family and friends).
2. YES for sweet little girls is a decision you have to consult your parents. I remember when I was given a job offer for my latest work, I even told the HR person that I would be consulting my parents on my decision. Yes, even at the age of 28, I still seek counsel from my parents. Not that I am an indecisive person but because I believe that for life changing decisions, it won't do any harm to consult our parents. As the saying goes, 'parents knows best'.
3. YES for young adults is life changing. The decisions we make when we were younger would not affect us that much. Maybe because our parents are always by our side ready to catch us or back us up especially when we make mistakes and when we don't know what to do. But we should not be afraid of making bad decisions because bad decisions will eventually lead us to good, better and best decisions. Also, all success in life came from high probabilities of errors and mistakes. So don't be afraid to fail because it is the only way to succeed.
Stay Optimistic, Happy & Loved!
