The Conquistador in Me

My family surname is named after the great Spanish conquistador Hernando Cortes. He is the man behind the fall of the Aztec empire. Now I am living my surname as I want to explore and conquer the world but the difference is, mine is in a very positive way. I do not have any sword or gun but I shall have a camera with me to document every moment and every special place to see. 

I am a dreamer. I love to dream but what I love the most is making my dreams come true. 

When I was young, I used to be so excited every time we go visit the province. I used to line up all my bags (about 10-12 bags) and put clothes on it. My mom will scold me and she will put all the clothes in just one bag. I get so amazed and I wonder how she does it. Now, I've been so inspired to travel, to journey and have a lot of stop overs.

My first big travel was during World Youth 2008 in Australia. It was a different travel, a pilgrimage, a journey. It was one of the most inspiring stop overs of my life. I was able to visit Canberra & Sydney. But seeing the place and being there was just sprinkles of blessings. The greatest blessing during my Australia Journey was having a new set of friends that I call family. 

My next big travel was a three nights and two days stay in Macau. It was one of the best. I felt like I was able to have a superb rest. Macau is a nice place. Very laid back feel. Plus, the cold summer touch of Macau simply excites me. 

"I smell Spain". I started smelling Spain back in 2010. I didn't know I will be able to travel to Europe. Passing by Schipol (Amsterdam) and staying in Madrid for 6 days was worth it. Even if I felt it was not enough, having a new family made it complete.

Journey. Life is a beautiful journey and I am here to conquer it, to live it. As the bible says, 'Always put God first and you will be successful.' (Proverbs 16:3) Success varies from person to person. Success may mean living your life as a peace maker, healer, preacher, lawyer, dancer or whatever it is. As long as you are living the purpose that God intended for you, you are considered a success.
